Following the news Warner Brothers is shifting release dates for Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice and nine more movies starring DC Comics heroes, fans are in a geek fever wondering what’s next after the Man of Steel/Dark Knight showdown?

The dates are:

3/25/16

8/5/16

6/23/17

11/17/17

4/23/18

7/27/18

11/16/18*

4/5/19

6/14/19

4/3/20

6/19/20

11/20/20*

*These Warner Brothers claimed dates are not for DC Comics based movies but still “event movies” based on Fantastic Beasts by J.K. Rowling according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The studio is already planning a Justice League movie so that’s a given but what other DC movies do we want to see?

Man of Steel 2 I definitely want to see Henry Cavill in the lead again, but more importantly I want to see more hope, more feel-good, more “thank you, Superman” moments. I originally wanted to see Clark face off against Lex Luthor and Brainiac, but after a Justice League movie that will likely be a showodown with Darkseid’s forces I thought of something bigger: Mongul! Have Superman captured by the alien tyrant and thrown in to the gladiatorial games of Warworld.

Wonder Woman The first shot of Gal Gadot in costume showed us this will be an Amazon warrior! No word on how big her role will be or how much we’ll learn about her back story in BvSDoJ. I’d love to see a War of Gods as Diana must stop the schemes of Ares and Circe, who are scheming to have the Amazons invade our world.

Batman Ben Affleck is said to be portraying a tougher, older, experienced Dark Knight in BvSDoJ. While Affleck can carry a movie, I’d love to see a Dark Knight Legacy based on Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s Court of Owls saga. A family of crime fighters inspired by Batman (Dick Grayson, Barbara Gordon, Tim Drake, Luke Fox) patrols the streets while Bruce Wayne tries to build a better Gotham City. Instead of a specific rogue we’ve seen before, I love the idea of the Court of Owls as a symbol of evil and corruption. Just when Batman defeats the Court’s Talon, they unleash their army of Talons and Bruce must call on his young allies to save Gotham.

Green Lantern Corps Not just Hal Jordan but John Stewart, Carol Ferris, Kyle Rayner, Sinestro and Larfleeze. No new origin story, just jump right in to a outer space procedural drama – L.A. Confidential in space with Hal and John not sure which Lanterns they can trust. Just let Johns help write it!

The Flash and Shazam are likely suspects. Barry Allen is beloved and he’s got an incredible supporting cast including those Rogues. Billy Batson/Shazam is really important in the comics now that he’s replaced Superman in Justice League series.

But for your consideration….

Hawkman Yes, Hawkman! Katar Hol and Shayera are honored police officers from Thanagar who go undercover on Earth to find the shape-shifting super criminal Byth. Katar and Shayera pose as human scientists/museum curators who discover the connections between ancient Egypt and Thanagarian refugees while stop Byth from destroying Earth in his bid to return and conquer Thanagar.  This alien Indiana Jones/fish out of water power couple could be a kinetic breath of fresh air in the franchise.

Secret Society of Super Villains We have to work on that long title! Maybe Injustice League? Inspired by Forever Evil, I want to see rogues like Lex Luthor, Catwoman and Deathstroke work together and against an army of greater evils to save the planet…so they can rule and steal! I think DC has the advantage of villains who want to cheer for – seeing Lex and Selina manipulate other bad guys and girls and coming out heroes could be great fun.

Time will tell. The closer we get to BvSDoJ, we’ll see more clues and have more announcements as big comic cons come but that’s our suggested vision for the future of the DC Cinematic Universe.
