New Star Wars Marvel comics inspired by The Force Awakens are among our 16 geek wishes for 2016.

In a galaxy of new and classic characters and a universe of story possibilities here are four limited series comics we hope to see as we anxiously await the next cinematic chapter:

Rey of Light

Daisy Ridley’s scavenger turned likely Jedi is the heroine that shines in the new film and is possibly The Force on which the new trilogy is taking. We want more. We can’t wait. Can we get a limited series about the loner scavenger? Why did she want to not leave Jakku? How did this working class hero also become an expert pilot? Why is the Force strong with her? Rey’s future will be revealed in the next films but could a comic by G. Willow Wilson or Marguerite Bennett could shed a light on her past and tease us with her potential.

Captain Phasma Rises

The intimidating chrome suited commander took command of the screen. This is the first film to show an actual hierarchy among Stormtroopers with a commanding officer. Can we get a limited series showing Phasma’s rise to power by Greg Rucka?

Under the Helmets

Finn is the first time we saw an actual face under the white helmets and a human story behind the soldier. The new Stormtroopers are “recruited” by the First Order by their families and have only a number. If Finn can break conditioning and defect – could he be the key to turning the First Order’s soldiers against them? The new film showed us the inner workings of the Empire’s successor and we want more. What if a limited series by Charles Soule followed a Stormtrooper from “recruitment” through basic training to a first mission?

Han and Chewie

The Force Awakens brought us the scoundrel and his loyal friend back out in space smuggling, swindling and scheming. How did the heroes of Endor lose their way and the Falcon? After the Chewbacca adventure I’d like Marvel to recruit Gerry Duggan for this tale of the smugglers’ past.

What new or classic characters from The Force Awakens would you like to see in a Marvel comic before Star War VIII comes out?
