Producers find the actor to bring a classic Marvel villain to life in X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016

Oscar Isaac will play the immortal enemy named En Sabah Nur aka “The First One.”

After a brief post-credits tease in X-Men: Days of Future Past this year the Children of the Atom will be pitted against one of their most powerful enemies.

Oscar Isaac is “The First One” as Fox’s X-Men film franchise evolves.

The actor has signed to play the titular villain of X-Men: Apocalypse according to Variety. The rising star (Inside LLewyn Davis, Drive,  A Most Violent Year) has a role in Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens.

Apocalypse was seen in the post-credits sequence of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

But with writer Jonathan Hickman there are no wild cards in his elaborately plotted epic that began with Avengers World and building up the comics event of 2015.

While the Avengers been battling the Builders, Thanos and A.I.M. – the Illuminati (Tony Stark, Reed Richards, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Black Bolt, Beast, Namor) have committed unheroic acts (brainwashed Steve Rogers, destroy other planets) to save Earth from incusions from other Earths in the Marvel multiverse. Marvel shared a first look inside Spider-Man and the X-Men #1.

Spider-Man is keeping a promise to Wolverine by joining the Jean Grey School as the new guidance counselor and undercover operative in a brand new series.

Before he died, Wolverine asked Parker to uncover a conspiracy within the school. It’s up to Spidey to find out which student is not what they seem.

With students like Shark Girl, Eye Boy and Quentin Quire – former odd teenager Peter Parker should find a way to connect with the kids. What will Storm and the adult X-Men think of Spidey joining the school?

The newest Marvel 2015 teaser takes X-fans back to 1992.

Chris Claremont and Jim Lee were uniting the Children of the Atom before splitting them up into two teams and launching what is still the biggest selling issue of all time, X-Men #1.

Back when Professor X was in charge, Cyclops wore gold shorts over his uniform, Jubilee was a teenage mutant and Rogue sported a leather jacket.
