Batwoman #18 Kate Kane has a new partner and new role in the war on crime. Batman guest stars as a new arc kicks off. Did Maggie saw yes to Kate’s marriage proposal? What’s her reaction to the big reveal?

Captain Marvel #11 Carol faces a new version of one her deadliest foes! Ms. Marvel took on the alien operative known as Deathbird. The Shi’ar warrior was the twisted sister of Empress Lilandra and the mad D’Ken and became a foe of the X-Men. (Imagine Game of Thrones but with birdlike aliens and you get the Shi’ar! ) Who is the new high-flying villain stalking Carol?

Constantine #1 The star of Justice League Dark hellblazes into his own solo series by Jeff Lemire, Ray Fawkes and Renato Guedes. John Constantine is the amoral hero lurking in the darkest shadows of the DC Universe. What he learns in the premiere issue threatens The New 52 universe!

Doctor Who: Prisoners of Time #3 All eleven Time Lords are featured in this epic story celebrating the Doctor’s anniversary! Break out  your magician’s cape and make way for Jon Pertwee! Could the Master be the mastermind of this episode’s cross-time caper?

Indestructible Hulk #5 Green Goliath versus Big Bad Blue! Hulk versus Attuma! Can Bruce Banner’s S.H.I.E.L.D. team stop Attuma’s frightening plot against the surface world? I love how Mark Waid writes Banner.

Cable and X-Force are mutants on the run as a new arc kicks off this week. Colossus is one of my favorite X-Men but he’s been recruited to Cable’s crew and look where it got him!

Writer Dennis Hopeless has taken the tortured metal man into new territory after Avengers vs. X-Men. No Kitty Pryde. No X-Men. Hopeless explains his approach to Peter:

“Colossus is definitely Continue reading Colossus In Chains

X-Termination kicks off this week! Three X-Men teams. Three worlds. Three powerhouse writers. The universe is threatened and it will take X-Men from various timelines to save us and stop one of their own. The action begins in X-Termination #1 and rocks into Astonishing X-Men, Age of Apocalypse and X-Treme X-Men. Nightcrawler may be the spark that triggers the crossover but as you can see above the Dark Beast makes an evil comeback!

The Age of Apocalypse Nightcrawler wants to go back to his timeline and he’s willing to destroy any world to it. This AoA Kurt proved he’s only loyal to himself in Uncanny X-Force when he gutted Wolverine. X-Termination will see a rematch Continue reading Inside X-Termination #1

The X-Termination Event begins this week! Nightcrawler wants to go back to the Age of Apocalypse and he’ll destroy Earth to do it.

Teams starring in Astonishing X-Men, X-Treme X-Men and Age of Apocalypse clash in a major crossover kicking off this week. Marjorie Liu, Grek Pak and David Lapham (writer of the three books) tell Marvel.com about the collision of X-Men from alternate realities. The talented trio collaborated on this week’s X-Termination Alpha #1 together before the story hits each book.

“I think we each write our X-Family books Continue reading X-Termination Begins!

Heading to a club this weekend? You may see the mutant rapper Kid Apocalypse! I met this creative cosplayer at Emerald City Comicon and later learned he was shooting a mutant rap video which I shared last week.

Kid Apocalypse is a great rapper and knows his X-Men history. Before the ECCC video the Kid and Beast made this video Kid Apocalypse Rising. Listen for the classic music track Kid raps over! Enjoy:

Yes, that’s the theme from the X-Men Animated Series from the 90’s.

Thanks Kid Apocalypse and Mongrel Studios!

Age of Ultron Finale Preview!

Age of Ultron just kicked off! Marvel is giving us ominous clues to the shocking, possibly Marvel Universe changing finale in the June previews. Hank Pym’s monstrous creation returned and conquered Earth in Age of Ultron #1. Only a handful of heroes are left to stand against the humanity hating A.I. and his army of robots.

In June’s Age of Ultron #9 heroes are forced to “make the most controversial decision of their lives” and in issue #10 “the biggest secret in comics will be revealed to you! An ending so confidential…even the artists of this book don’t know what lies on the final pages.”

Marvel COO and comic book legend Joe Quesada returns to draw “a sequence that people will be talking about for years.”

Wasp Joins Uncanny Avengers

I would love to see founding Avenger Wasp on the big screen in the next Avengers movie but it doesn’t seem likely.

Janet Van Dyne fans can celebrate the next issue of Uncanny Avengers! In one his final acts as the Avengers writer, Brian Michael Bendis brought back Janet. Turns out Wasp didn’t die in Secret Invasion but she was in the Microverse! Wasp, Wonder Man and Sunfire join the squad made of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Children of the Atom. I wanted to share part of Rick Remender’s thoughts on how Janet will fit into the Marvel Now and this hybrid team.

“Wasp’s time in the microverse has Continue reading Wasp Joins Uncanny Avengers

Greg Pak Story!

The first meeting in The New 52 of the Dark Knight and Man of Steel!

Did I mention Jae Lee Art?!

Jae Lee inspired huge lines recently at Emerald City Comicon in Seattle. While fanboys and girls waited patiently with copies of Hellshock, X-Men, Wolverine and Masks covers the #1 question on most of our minds was about this sure to be epic new series!

I know Greg Pak will write a powerhouse story but for now let’s just take in the art!!!
