The X-Men movie universe is mutating.

X-Men: Apocalypse may be the final film for the First Class cast. Deadpool broke the rules and broke box-office records. A Gambit standalone is still in the cards. Producer Simon Kinberg gave an update on a New Mutants spinoff film.

Don’t call them X-Babies. The New Mutants could be the next evolution of Fox’s X-Men film franchise.

In the comics the New Mutants were a new generation of teens training (Karma, Mirage, Cannonball, Wolfsbane, Sunspot) at the Xavier School that Professor Xavier recruited when he thought his team had died in action.

Magneto even became the school’s headmaster and a must sterner teacher. The New Mutants evolved into X-Force led by Cable.

Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) is writing the script. Kinberg was asked about the status and tone of the spinoff: Continue reading NEW MUTANTS Is X-MEN With “YOUNG ADULT VIBE”
