Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter) made her first official comic book convention appearance at Emerald City Comicon – the sold-out event in Seattle.

Atwell inspired an army of Peggy Carter cosplayers, huge lines for photos, autographs and a full house for her panel.

“It was thanks to the fans, really, because I had no expectations that it would go any further than the first Captain America film,” Atwell said about the fan enthusiasm for Peggy that led to the recent series.

The hour included behind the scenes hijinks from the Agent Carter set. Moderator Grant Imahara shared video of Atwell showing she’s grape catching champ of the team and a real prankster by jumping out nowhere scaring James D’Arcy (Jarvis) into a hilarious laughing fit.

Imahara joked that most most competent people on the show were British and asked about the on screen chemistry with D’Arcy.

“The important thing was having comic relief, the banter, that wit, that warmth and that kind of psychological warfare going on between them,” “They have a love/hate relationship. That wit, that sarcasm, that irony, is very, very British. But I’m half-American, but I get my humor from my mother’s side. “”

Atwell revealed she decided to touch the chest of the shirtless Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) are seeing in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and said, “I touched his man boob (laughs), that’s him, no serum” and confessed she has props from Agent Carter including a vial of Steve’s blood.

Atwell confirmed we’ll see more of Peggy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a cameo in Marvel’s next big move Ant-Man.

“She crosses over, but it’s more of a cameo,” Atwell explained, “It’s not a flashback – well, it is, but not to the point where it’s 1946.”
