The final showdown between Batman and Talia is almost here! Grant Morrison already killed off Bruce’s son so you can imagine anything can happen in this week’s Batman, Incorporated #13.
Damian was a casualty of the war between these lovers turned deadly rivals. Morrison always planned to kill off the Son of Batman.
When asked about his final Batman chapter by Comics Newsarama at San Diego Comic Con Morrison said:
“I really think a lot of people will hate it, because it’s super bleak.
So I think a lot of people will not like it. But then a few years will pass, maybe a bit less, several months, and then people will start to say, “oh, this all makes sense.”
But I genuinely think it will cause a slight upset. Maybe if I say that it won’t!”
We’ve seen Man-Bats, crazed cultists and allies and family killed in action in the war for Gotham City between Batman, Inc and Talia’s Leviathan. This will be the grand finale of Grant Morrison’s epic series and his Batman run. It’s been thrilling, puzzling, raw and powerful.
Here are some of artist Chris Burnham’s pages from the finale including a one-on-one fight with Bruce and Talia! You can to call Burnham Morrison’s true partner-in-crime. Burnham makes you laugh at every funny moment (Damian’s Bat-Cow) and feel every brutal punch Morrison orchestrates.
The big question:
How will Morrison go out? What’s his final statement on Batman?
Will Bruce kill Talia?
Does the daughter of Ra’s Al Ghul deserve it?
We find out Wednesday in Batman, Incorporated #13.
Morrison and Batman. The end of an era. Prepare for anything!
