A comic book take on Ladies’ Night celebrating four female creators, fans and women who just want to learn more about comics.

Zanadu Comics declared October 15th is Ladies’ Night at their store with an after-hours event for women.
“Most women have never set foot inside a comic store. Their reasons are many and varied, but most of them revolve around the idea that comics are a guy thing. We all know that’s not true. Comics are for everybody. So in hopes of dispelling the myth that comics are for boys, we are having this women only event,” Team Zanadu told us.

The owner says he will be watching the door, but he will be the only male in the store. Guests, volunteers, and customers will all be women including:
Kelly Froh, comic creator (The Greatest, My Body is A Lemon, Samson) and co-organizer of the Short Run Comics & Arts Festival.

Eroyn Franklin, comic creator (Detained, Making Tide, For the Record I Know This is a Bad Idea) and co-organizer or Short Run Comics & Arts Festival.

Gina Siciliano, comic creator (Summertime, I Know What I Am).

G. Willow Wilson, comic creator (Air, Cairo, Ms. Marvel) and book author.

There will be some snacks, some prizes, discounts and a whole lot of comic book talk. Owners and volunteers want to hear about comics people love, comics people hate, and what there is to love about comics books as a medium.

Zanadu Comics is located in Downtown Seattle, 1923 3rd Ave (between Stewart and Virginia Streets). The event starts at 7:00pm.
