Quicksilver (Evan Peters) was a scene stealing smash in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The super fast mutant was recruited by Wolverine and Professor X to break Magneto out of prison in what might be the coolest scene in an X-movie since Nightcrawler’s White House attack.
In the comics Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch (Pietro and Wanda) are children of Magneto but left his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants to become Avengers. Fans got their first look at the twins (Aaron Taylor-Johnson & Elizabeth Olsen of Godzilla) in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and we’ll learn just how they differ from their comic book counterparts in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Back to Fox’s X-Men, Quicksilver dropped a line hinting that he may be the son of Magneto. In the film’s final moments Peter was holding a little girl – a sister perhaps?
She was too young to be his twin but the X producers be preparing for the coming of Polaris?
Lorna Dane first appeared in X-Men #49 and would be the on-again, off-again love of Alex Summers (Havok) and Bobby Drake (Iceman.) Dane is the daughter of Magneto and inherited her father’s magnetic powers but with a twist – green hair.
Dane’s life has been one tragedy after another from being possessed by an evil entity called Malice to losing Alex to learning the truth about her father. You can currently see Polaris and Quicksilver together in All-New X-Factor by Peter David. Lorna, Pietro and Gambit work for a corporate funded super team. Lorna is team leader and Quicksilver is trying to bond and watch out for his half-sister.
While Marvel Studios will explore the Quicksilver/Scarlet Witch dynamic in the Avengers movies, maybe Fox can give fans this different side of the House of Magnus. Lorna was once a Horseman of En Sabah Nur so could producers could use her in X-Men Apocalypse. By adding Polaris it adds a powerful mutant but gives the opportunity to show a different side of Magneto (Michael Fassbender) a man shaped by the tragedies in his life.
