Brian Michael Bendis is wrapping up his Uncanny X-Men, All-New X-Men run. The fan-favorite writer confirmed his final issue, Uncanny X-Men #600, will be delayed until October after Secret Wars.

This milestone issue will be his final word on classic and new mutants he created. Bendis inherited “broken” super couple Scott Summers and Emma Frost after the tragic events of Avengers vs. X-Men. Cyclops and Frost broke up and their powers were broken.

Cyclops and the Phoenix are far from over as you can see in the pages of Secret Wars by Jonathan Hickman.

What does Bendis have to say about where he’s taken Scott and Emma on his X-run? Continue reading CYCLOPS & EMMA FROST BROKEN By BENDIS

An all-female Avengers team emerges in the new Battleworld of Secret Wars. After the destruction of the Marvel and Ultimate Universe there is a patchwork reality of Warzones that may remind you of Game of Thrones and Dune.

A new team rises in A-Force #1 by writers G. Willow Wilson (Ms. Marvel, X-Men) and Marguerite Bennett (Angela: Asgard’s Assassin, Lois Lane one-shot) and veteran X-Men artist Jorge Molina.

Just like Battleworld, this Avengers squad comes from different Marvel realities: She-Hulk, Dazzler, Medusa, Nico Minoru from Runaways and a cosmically powered woman named Singularity.

One of the biggest surprises of the year in comics so far is the coming out of original X-Man Bobby Drake. Or was he forced out?

Bobby Drake was called out by Jean Grey in All-New X-Men #40. The teen telepath saw the truth in young Iceman’s mind.

Justified or invasion of privacy?

Right or wrong?

What does writer Brian Michael Bendis say about the story now that some time has passed and how will it impact the final issues of his X-Men run? Continue reading BENDIS On Outing ICEMAN

The world is learning what Avengers readers already know: Ultron is the most evil robot in fiction and the most relentless, maybe greatest Avengers villain.

Before Hal, Terminator, Fembots, Roy Batty, Megatron and a legion of metallic monsters there was Ultron attacking the Avengers for more than six decades of comics.

Director Joss Whedon and actor James Spader are bringing the artificial intelligence to cinematic glory in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Tony Stark’s great invention to better protect the Earth becomes an engine of destruction obsessed with the extinction of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the human race.

As we learn Ultron is more than a deadly robot. This artificial intelligence’s human connection is what drives the emotional conflict within it. This sentient being comprehends pain, anger, rejection and returns after every defeat with a vengeance. This artificial being makes is personal and painful when it comes to the Avengers.

Here are some of the greatest Ultron stories: Continue reading AVENGERS: ULTRON’S Most Wanted

The man who plays the Hulk is weighing on the outing of an X-Man.

It was just a week ago (not counting the leak a few days prior) that young Bobby Drake came out (or was he outed) in All-New X-Men #44 by Brian Michael Bendis.

Young Jean Grey read Iceman’s mind and confronted him on his sexist comments about female teammates saying he was overcompensation because he’s gay. Bobby and Jean eventually bonded and he did confess to her but wondered why his old self isn’t gay – or is he?

While readers, religious leaders and GLBT activists have sounded off on the story development actor Mark Ruffalo of Avengers: Age of Ultron has made his support clear. Continue reading MARK RUFFALO On X-MAN COMING OUT

A milestone issue for Marvel’s First Family this week but it’s a bittersweet moment.

Fantastic Four #645 is the final issue of the cancelled title as the publisher returns to its original numbering. This is the conclusion of The End of 4Ever.

In two months the Fantastic Four star in a new film adventure with a new cast but the iconic comic book ends with this final issue by James Robinson and Leonard Kirk.

Is this ending about sales, studio rivalry or maybe it’s just time for a creative break as the entire Marvel Universe ends before the start of Secret Wars event? Continue reading After THE END of FANTASTIC FOUR
