As we build up until the final weeks of Avengers, New Avengers, the start of Secret Wars and the end of the Marvel Universe we’re watching for clues and signs.

Who caused the death of the Marvel Universe?

Jonathan Hickman’s epic Avengers run began with incursions from other Earths threatening to destroy ours. When heroes fail the Marvel Universe will be destroyed and only Battleworld remains as Secret Wars rage.

But what started the incursions?

Secret Wars leads to Battleworld – the new Marvel reality divided into Warzones bases on classic comics stories.

Brian Michael Bendis and Andrea Sorrentino revisit the future world of Old Man Logan, based on the storyline by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven.  Wolverine was almost the last hero standing in a world conquered by super villains who goes on a last stand road trip.

STUART IMMONEN Joins MARVEL’s STAR WARS

Marvel announced Stuart Immonen will join writer Jason Aaron on the new Star Wars series starting with issue eight this July.

Today’s announcement follows John Cassaday saying he would leave after issue six.

The publisher also revealed an unfinished look at the Immonen’s pencils for the Star Wars #8 cover.

Aaron confirmed via Twitter he is staying on the new book “for the long haul.”
