Melissa Benoist (Glee, Whiplash) has been cast as DC heroine in the CBS television pilot according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash) is an executive producer along with his No Ordinary Family partner Ali Adler.
Supergirl is Kara Zor-El, the Man of Steel’s cousin born on Krypton but escaped before it was destroyed. Kara will find her way to Earth and be adopted by the Danvers.
After years of repressing her powers Kara (now 24 years old) will start to her use her abilities to help others. No word on if the hero will be called Kara or Linda Danvers like in the comics.
