Up, Up and Away!

CBS is adding DC Comics Girl Power to Mondays this Fall. At the Up Fronts this week the networks revealed their fall schedules and first looks at the new shows.

Supergirl soared in a first look trailer with Melissa Benoist is Kara Zor-El, cousin of the Man of Steel.

After a brief scene on doomed Krypton we see the future heroine in her human secret identity working for media mogul Cat Grant () and falling for Jimmy Olsen (Mechad Brooks) and a life changing moment involving her sister (Chyler Leigh)

Warner Brothers and DC Comics revealed this first look at Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El from Supergirl, the new pilot from Warner Bros. Television and based on the characters from DC Comics.

Supergirl’s pilot episode is in production for CBS and co-stars stars Mehcad Brooks (Jimmy Olsen), Calista Flockhart (Cat Grant), Chyler Leigh (Alexandra “Alex” Danvers), David Harewood (Hank Henshaw), Faran Tahir (The Commander), with Super veterans Dean Cain and Helen Slater (both in unspecified roles). Warner Brothers and CBS find their Supergirl.

Melissa Benoist (Glee, Whiplash) has been cast as DC heroine in the CBS television pilot according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash) is an executive producer along with his No Ordinary Family partner Ali Adler.

Supergirl will soar on CBS.
The network gave a series commitment to the series starring Superman’s cousin according to Deadline.
Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash) and Ali Adler (No Ordinary Family) will produce the drama starring the DC Comics hero.
