A bitter reunion between X-Men allies leads to an awesome battle, ironic twist and a new level of mysteries in All-New X-Factor #4 this week.

Here’s what you need to know:

Serval Industries bought the X-Factor brand name from Jamie Madrox. The CEO recruited Polaris, Quicksilver and Gambit to the company’s official super hero team to just help people.

They may go on a few corporate errands, too.

The search for cyber thieves from Serval leads back to Remy’s Thieves Guild but an even bigger “family” reunion.

We learn what happened to Danger?

The A.I. danger room turned sentient being (during Joss Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men run) has been a prisoner and pawn and is ready for payback.

Can Polaris, Gambit and Quicksilver stop an insane machine intent on murder?
Peter David writes a battle filled with action, humor and twists as he explores new levels of power in Polaris and Danger. For all the fighting it’s a an innovative tactic from Gambit that saves the day, shakes up the team dynamic and sets the stage for the next arc and new mysteries ahead.

What I’ve always loved about Peter David and X-Factor is the focus on – how do I say – leftover mutants.

I don’t want to call them B, C or D level but it’s more like the less popular kids who don’t get picked for the main teams. You can always find a book or three with Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, and Psylocke.

From government liaison unit to detective agency to corporate backed team, David’s X-Factor runs focus on compelling mutants who deserve the spotlight and great storytelling. David made fans love Jamie Madrox the Multiple Man and Guido aka Strong Guy and now he’s crafting a wonderful dynamic between Lorna, Pietro and Jamie. Artist Carmine Di Giandomenico makes a perfect partner bringing quirky, compelling greatness to the latest incarnation of X-Factor.
