The end of the world marks a new beginning for the heroes of Marvel’s Ultimate Universe.

Galactus may be chowing down on Earth in the big event Cataclysm – the Ultimate line is not dead but set for rebirth.

Rumor of the line’s cancellation are now firmly quashed with the announcement of three new books in the aftermath of the Cataclysm crossover.

“They’re able to win the day, but at great sacrifice, a sacrifice that is so huge that it changes the entire landscape,” Brian Michael Bendis tells the AP. “It creates a place that demands a fresh start from everyone who surveys it.”

These are the new books on the way:

All-New Ultimates will star Spider-Man Miles Morales, Kitty Pryde, Cloak & Dagger, Bombshell and a new Black Widow (formerly Spider-Woman) by Michael Fiffe (Copra) and Amilcar Pinna.

Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man by original Ultimate Universe co-founder Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez.

Ultimate FF by Joshua Fialkov and Mario Guevara starring Tony Stark, Susan Storm and the other geniuses of the Ultimate Universe.

“Once again, we’re destroying something and building something new, but there’s an end game in sight,” Marvel Editor-In-Chief Axel Alonso told the AP

“We created the line to take chances,” he added.
“Dead is dead,” he said, so don’t expect any miraculous resurrections. “The long and short of it is this: The Ultimate (universe) benefits from a good, old kick in the butt.”

The Ultimate line was created to show a modern Marvel Universe without decades of continuity. Peter Parker, many Avengers and X-Men, even Wolverine, have been killed and not resurrected.
