A new mutant joins the X-Men film franchise in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Bryan Singer revealed Jubilee will join the cast after previously revealing new actors will play younger versions of Jean Grey, Storm, Scott Summers and Nightcrawler.

Professor X, Magneto, Mystique and Beast (James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult) return for the sequel set in the 1980’s. Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine.

It’s a good bet Gambit (Channing Tatum) and Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) may appear since those characters are headlining spinoffs before and after Apocalypse. Days of Future Past introduced Blink, Sunspot and Warpath.

We shared our villainous picks to join the sequel.

Inspired by the Jubilation Lee announcement here’s our picks for more heroic mutants to join the sequel:

Domino. I want Neena Thurman in any movie but this one is perfect and she’s already been cast. Morena Baccarin revealed she’s playing Vanessa (Carlyle) in Deadpool. If the movie follows comics Vanessa is the shapeshifter Copycat. We first saw Vanessa impersonating Domino in Cable’s X-Force. If Copycat doesn’t survive Deadpool, Baccarin can play the mutant merc with good luck in another X-film.

Cable. Nathan Summers has one of the most complicated origins in comics but he’s a fan-favorite hero and integral to the time spanning war against Apocalypse. Plus, Cable and Neena are lovers on the run in the original X-Force.

Monet St. Croix. Just the thought of Jubilee and my mind went to her Generation X teammate “M” aka Monet St. Croix with multiple psionic powers, a sassy spoiled rich girl attitude and she brings diversity to the cast. Monet is the daughter of an Algerian multimillionaire whose elitist upbringing and sharp wit rivaled Emma Frost. Monet would become a member of the long-running X-Factor series featuring a team of mutant private investigators.

Rachel Summers. One of my all-time favorite characters who overcame a tragic future past to become a great hero. Rachel is the daughter of Scott and Jean first introduced in Days of Future Past but she did not appear in the movie. Like her mother, Rachel is a powerful telepath and telekinetic who sent Kitty Pryde back in time to change the future. Rachel escaped to our past and became an X-Man but would go back to the future in the war against Apocalypse.

You can see to the side here Rachel and Monet are part of Storm’s X-Men team now.

Which mutants would you want to see in the next film?

X-Men: Apocalypse opens in May, 2016.
