Brian Michael Bendis is leaving the X-Men franchise but staying a Marvel exclusive so fans are waiting to see what he will do next.

Before the milestone Uncanny X-Men #600 (the final issue of the Bendis run) the mutants have to survive The Black Vortex crossover and the shocking time twists of The Last Will and Testament of Charles Xavier.

We don’t want to spoil the current issues but if you’ve been reading it seems Cyclops is paying for his actions in Avengers vs. X-Men when he killed the Professor X.

“Issue #31 is going to be the issue that rattles people before we get to #600. Continue reading BENDIS on BEAST, CYCLOPS in X-MEN final issues

After making and changing mutant history Brian Michael Bendis announced he’s leaving the X-Men with a giant-sized Uncanny X-Men #600.

Bendis brought the original students of Xavier into the present in All-New X-Men and Cyclops started a revolution in Uncanny X-Men.

As the Children of the Atom feel the fallout from Professor X’s greatest secret – Bendis will exit just before Secret Wars.

The acclaimed writer explains why this was the time to leave:

“Over the course of the last few years, I will have written almost 90 issues of X-Men. That’s a good run! One of the best parts about being on X-Men was that I knew I was never going to hit Chris Claremont’s X-Men record, so I was free of whatever that is that drives such a thing,” Bendis exclusively told Comic Book Resources. CELEBRATING BLACK COMIC BOOK CHARACTERS

As we celebrate Black History Month we’re inspired to salute African-American superheroes and update fans on their status in their comic book universes.

With Anthony Mackie’s breakout performance as Falcon in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Chadwick Boseman (42) cast as Black Panther and the return of Milestone Media with new and returning heroes – a lot has happened in a year.

Fictional superheroes are not as critical as real civil rights leaders, scientists, boundary breaking athletes and artists but it’s important to celebrate diversity in comic books. Most of these black characters were created by white males but we hope by recognizing these characters it might inspire new writers, artists and editors of all backgrounds to push for new voices and greater diversity in making comics and inside comics. The X-Men franchise could mutate into a new television series.

Fox Executives Gary Newman and Dana Walden confirm they’re into talks to develop an X-Men television series spinning off the popular film franchise according to TV Insider.

Twentieth Century Fox controls the film rights to the X-Men. Marvel controls the right to the comic characters which is part of Disney. According to the story Fox would need Disney/Marvel’s approval to move ahead with a television series.

“It’s in negotiations,” Newman said. “We’re cautiously optimistic, we had a good meeting with them. That will not be on a fast track creatively. This is just the deal, now we have to find the creative.” Continue reading FOX Plans X-MEN Television Series

Oscar Isaac is revealing more news about his transformation into one of the most fearsome X-Men villains.

Isaac said Apocalypse “will bring the X-Men to their knees” but how will the acclaimed actor and director Bryan Singer create the bad guy’s look and powers?

“It’ll be a mix [of practical and digital]. I haven’t had a script so I haven’t had a chance to look through the script and see what the exact requirements are, but I think it’ll be a mixture of physical, aided with some robotic technology,” Isaac told Yahoo Movies. Who are the Utopians in All-New X-Men #40 ?

The tease for the next arc (after The Black Vortex crossover) by Brian Michael Bendis has us intrigued and reminiscing about the recent past.

Utopia was the island nation Cyclops established off the coast of San Francisco but destroyed by the Phoenix Five in Avengers vs. X-Men.

Will this the mean the return of some mutants who played role in this Nation X off the California coast?

Here are the most wanted mutants we’d like to see resurrected as possible Utopians? Continue reading Most Wanted X-MEN As UTOPIANS

Who are the Utopians?

All-New X-Men #40 (in Marvel‘s April previews) asked “Who are the Utopians?” and “what secret do they hold that pertains to the future of mutantkind?”

This blast from recent past may affect the future of the Children of the Atom.

Cyclops created a bright new future for the X-Men in San Fransisco. Then Norman Osborn’s Dark Reign began.  Osborn ordered his Dark Avengers and H.A.M.M.E.R. (his twisted version of S.H.I.E.L.D.) to restore his kind of order after anti-mutant riots erupted in their new home. Continue reading WHO ARE UTOPIANS in ALL-NEW X-MEN?
