Oscar Isaac is revealing more news about his transformation into one of the most fearsome X-Men villains.

Isaac said Apocalypse “will bring the X-Men to their knees” but how will the acclaimed actor and director Bryan Singer create the bad guy’s look and powers?

“It’ll be a mix [of practical and digital]. I haven’t had a script so I haven’t had a chance to look through the script and see what the exact requirements are, but I think it’ll be a mixture of physical, aided with some robotic technology,” Isaac told Yahoo Movies.

The star was talking about his mutant transformation while wrapping up his promotion for his next film Ex Machina.

“After we finish here I’m heading to do a head cast [for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’], which they do often. You spend 3-4 hours with them putting plaster all over your head and they get a sense of what your face is like and what shape your head is, so they can start figuring out the costume and the make up and all that stuff, which is pretty fun.”

In the comic books Apocalypse was born with the name En Sabah Nur aka the First One. You may remember the image of a gray skinned man in ancient Egypt with crowds chanting his name in the post-credits sequence of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

En Sabah Nur was born with blue-gray skin who later became a big, hulking powerhouse with an armored suit. Apocalypse’s powers include the ability to control the molecules of his body and his suit is augmented with alien technology from a Celestial ship that landed in ancient Egypt.

X-Men: Apocalypse opens May 2016.
