It’s the end of an era in Uncanny X-Men #5 as Magneto destroys a huge part of X-Men history, does a major makeover to an old school locale and strikes two rogues – not Rogue – who have been working for mystery masters.

Magneto, Psylocke, Sabretooth, M and Archangel investigated the Someday Corporation and tried to save mutant healers hunted by the Dark Riders.

Mystique and Fantomex are running their own investigation of Someday and working for the resurrected Hellfire Club.

Spot-on character portrayals, fast-paced action, killer chemistry and multiple engaging plots and counterplots – writer Cullen Bunn is nailing it with this book. The first arc is racing to a big finish and this chapter is packed with major changes. Continue reading X-MEN Homecomings, Reunions & Destruction

Mystique is tied to one of the big new mysteries in Cullen Bunn’s new Uncanny X-Men series.

We may have been given a huge clue in this week’s second issue.

Terrigen Mists are killing mutants and sterilizing genes. The mutant race is on the fast track to extinction thanks to the genetic phenomenon that’s creating new Inhumans.

Storm’s team is rescuing mutants from the Mists and providing them safety in X-Haven. Magneto is leading his own team with a very pro-active mission to save mutants from new enemies.

A corporation is profiting from the crisis by providing a different kind of safe haven to mutants for a price. Mutants agree to be frozen in suspended animation until there’s a cure or the Terrigen is gone.

Magneto’s team broke the mutants out of of the transports while Mystique is investigating the Someday corporation in a different way…but who is she working for? Continue reading MYSTIQUE’S X-MEN MYSTERY

Jennifer Lawrence will portray Mystique one final time in X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016. A lifetime of hatred by humanity shaped the shapeshifter into a radical crusader for mutant rights.

While the cinematic Raven Darkholme is ruthless, her comic book counterpart is a stone cold killer with a long list of crimes making her one of humanity and the X-Men’s greatest enemies.

As Brian Michael Bendis wraps his X-Men run, Raven is front and center again in a mad powerplay and the X-Men may have finally put a stop to her…for now.

Raven may not be as powerful as Magneto or Apocalypse but she’s still in the top tier of the X-Men’s deadliest enemies and here are Mystique’s greatest hits: Continue reading MYSTIQUE’S GREATEST HITS
