The real Dark Knight is back on the streets of Gotham City in Batman #50.

We’ve seen the hints but in 2016 it’s official.

DC Comics announced in the March 2016 previews the finale of the post Convergence story that began with Bruce as an amnesiac and Jim Gordon as the all-new Batman following the Dark Knight and Joker’s deaths in the Endgame finale.

Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo wrap up their latest arc as their Batman partnership draws to a close…for now.

In last week’s issue we saw a huge twist when Bruce seemed to start getting his memory back when a “familiar” face joined him.

Here’s the official word on Bruce’s return: Continue reading BRUCE WAYNE BACK In BLACK In BATMAN #50

Rise of the Villains reached a mid-season finale on Gotham.

It’s been a bloody, action-packed first half of the season with the death and birth of the Joker legend, the arrival of mad monks from Batman mythology and Barbara‘s deadly wedding ceremony gone wrong. They were all pieces of a revenge plot that goes back to a war among Gotham City’s first families.

In Worse Than a Crime the villains have risen and have the upper hand with our heroes on the run or waiting to be killed. Young Bruce Wayne was being held and waiting to be served on the sacrificial altar, Alfred was hurt and on the run after a near fatal encounter with Galavan’s psychotic sister and James Gordon turned to unlikely allies to save the Son of Gotham as Galavan‘s endgame raced to a climax with huge hints as new villains rising. It’s not just The Court of Owls coming to Gotham but a darker force coming for young Bruce Wayne?

The introduction of the Galavans (James Frain, Jessica Lucas) immediately made some comic readers suspect these sinister siblings were connected to the ancient organization introduced in Scott Snyder’s Batman run.

Scarification this week’s went deep into the history and mythology of the Wayne Family and Gotham City. It left no doubt who the Galavans really yet hinted at the terrifying evil coming. What’s coming is tied to another ancient society connected to the man who replaced Bruce Wayne as Batman! Continue reading New GOTHAM Villain Revealed

The Rise of the Villains continues on Gotham.

The surge of mad energy from Cameron Monaghan as Jerome Valeska (aka he who might have been the Joker) is over – sigh – but the evil is far from over.

Robin Lord Taylor is back front and center as the Penguin but it’s Theo Galavan (James Frain) still oozing with a sinister slow burn as he continues his long term plot.

Oswald Cobblepot isn’t safe from Galavan. The Penguin is perched atop the underworld but now he’s been tamed by a more dangerous bird of prey.

Before we continue talking about this week’s episode’s big moments and what they could mean here’s a… Continue reading GOTHAM After “The Last Laugh”
