The real Dark Knight is back on the streets of Gotham City in Batman #50.
We’ve seen the hints but in 2016 it’s official.
DC Comics announced in the March 2016 previews the finale of the post Convergence story that began with Bruce as an amnesiac and Jim Gordon as the all-new Batman following the Dark Knight and Joker’s deaths in the Endgame finale.
Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo wrap up their latest arc as their Batman partnership draws to a close…for now.
In last week’s issue we saw a huge twist when Bruce seemed to start getting his memory back when a “familiar” face joined him.
Here’s the official word on Bruce’s return:
“Batman has returned to Gotham City! In this extra-sized conclusion to Snyder and Capullo’s epic story “Superheavy,” Bruce Wayne returns to the cape and cowl to battle Mr. Bloom alongside Jim Gordon for the fate of the city they both love.”
The Wayne/Gordon/Batman story continues in Detective Comics #50 by Pete Tomasi:
“Jim Gordon faces his past in this extra-sized conclusion to his most shocking cold case yet. With history itself forcing him to reflect on the last year as Batman, Gordon must make a decision about what his future holds in Gotham City.”
Batman #50 arrives March 23, Detective Comics #50 on March 2nd.
