Batman is back just as writer Scott Snyder reveals his exit from the series.

The fan-favorite writer revealed issue 51 would be his last on the series via Twitter and the last issue with artist Greg Capullo for six months.

Snyder and Capullo have been the creative team on the Batman title since The New 52 launch in 2011.

Artist Yanick Paquette and co-writer James Tynion IV joined Snyder for this week’s Batman #49 – a huge and emotional moment in the series as it builds toward Snyder’s departure.

The real Dark Knight is back on the streets of Gotham City in Batman #50.

We’ve seen the hints but in 2016 it’s official.

DC Comics announced in the March 2016 previews the finale of the post Convergence story that began with Bruce as an amnesiac and Jim Gordon as the all-new Batman following the Dark Knight and Joker’s deaths in the Endgame finale.

Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo wrap up their latest arc as their Batman partnership draws to a close…for now.

In last week’s issue we saw a huge twist when Bruce seemed to start getting his memory back when a “familiar” face joined him.

SCOTT SNYDER Teases BATMAN Story After ENDGAME

Endgame is not the end of Scott Snyder on Batman.

The new arc with the Dark Knight vs. a revamped Joker goes into 2015.

The acclaimed writer hinted at what’s next on the DC Comics Subreddit AMA.

There is another story in the works.

“[I] definitely want to use a couple of big rogues (but post-‘Endgame’ I’ll be making up some new ones, too),” he said.
