Pacific Northwest cosplayers help make Emerald City Comicon such a geek-tacular experience.

The Seattle celebration always marks a reunion with new friends you see online and in person (often in costume) at the con. As big at ECCC is growing you can still run into your favorite cosplayers, collectors and fellow fans.

I met Ryan and Lauren a few years ago at the Jet City Comic Book Show (also produced by the team behind ECCC) dressed as my favorite Marvel couple: Kitty Pryde and Colossus. Continue reading X-MEN COSPLAYERS of EMERALD CITY COMICON

Spider-Man 2099 is back in his own solo series. Peter David created Miguel O’Hara back in the 1990’s as part of Marvel’s 2099 future line (which included X-Men, Punisher and Doom 2099.)

O’Hara came into our present in the pages of Superior Spider-Man last year. David will spin new stories of O’Hara in the Marvel Now with artist Will Sliney with covers by Simone Bianchi.

“I try not to “want” to return to characters I don’t own because, well, I don’t own them. Continue reading SPIDER-MAN 2099 New Series

Janet Van Dyne is famous for her fashion sense and ever-changing uniforms. The mighty and mighty chic Avenger is currently serving on the Uncanny Avengers Unity Squad after coming back from the microverse in the previous Avengers volume.

I had a double take this weekend at GeekGirlCon 2013 in Seattle – the third annual celebration of women in geek culture.

You have to admire the dedication of a cosplayer who works not one but two looks for the hero they love. I salute this geek girl I met at GeekGirlCon. On Saturday she sported the retro Wasp look complete with headpiece and visor seen here with a woman with great taste in an Avenging Archer! Continue reading WASP Double Cosplay at GeekGirlCon
