It’s Hunting Season in New York City! Logan is tracking dangerous prey: a child?

Paul Cornell and Alan Davis launched a brand new Wolverine series last month.

A young boy is running around New York City in possession of a powerful weapon and the child may be possessed. What will Logan do to stop the kid?

Here’s what Cornell says about this first arc:

James is involved in a hostage situation in the heart of New York, which spirals into an action-movie chase with him pursuing…he has no idea, and neither do we. It’s something absolutely disciplined, ruthless, and absolutely unconcerned with harming innocents. James has to do something not very nice in front of one such innocent. He’s damned if he’s going to let it happen again.”

Wolverine’s adventures have taken him around the world, into space and across timestreams but Cornell told Marvel.com he plans to keep the X-Man grounded in the new series.

“I like him at street level, but the rather startling guest star that shows up at the end of issue #2 should indicate we’ve got our eye on the wider Marvel Universe too. Street is an interesting place for him to be, because it’s not quite the default, which is surely forest. We’re aiming for a title which actually does introduce him to new readers, while touching only very lightly on his history for those Continue reading Wolverine #2 Preview

Cameras are rolling on Captain America: The Winter Soldier! Chris Evans reprises his role as Steve Rogers in Cap’s first solo movie mission in the modern age. Marvel shared this first photo from the set. The sequel is based on the storyline by Ed Brubaker. This is the story that made me a hardcore Cap fan all over again.

Here’s the official Marvel description:

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier will pick-up where Marvel’s The Avengers left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff , a.k.a. Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.”

Cobie Smulders reprises her role as SHIELD agent Maria Hill.

Joining the Marvel cinematic universe are: Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Frank Grillo as Crossbones, Georges St. Piere as Batroc and Emily Van Camp as Agent 13 (in the comics this is Cap’s modern day girlfriend Sharon Carter.)

For the non-comic book reading fans: What is the Winter Soldier?

Spoiler: Continue reading CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER First Set Picture!

BATMAN Guns for Jim Gordon?

Why would Bruce Wayne break his vow and use a handgun? Why is Bruce taking aim at Jim Gordon?

Batman #19 by Scott Snyder and Jim Capullo is out this week but what does this cover mean?

Is the friendship between Bruce and Jim and/or Batman and Gordon over in the aftermath of Death of the Family? and Damian Wayne’s murder in Batman Incorporated?

The events in this issue could be pivotal to Snyder’s next major arc: Batman Year Zero.

Batman and Robin #18 was a masterpiece – an epic, emotional story in the aftermath of Damian’s death. How will Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason top that powerful issue? This series will continue as a team-up book with rotating guest stars: Batgirl and Red Robin are coming up. This week’s Batman and Robin #19 could be an important bridge to those team-ups. Who will Bruce meet in this issue that will change him forever?

Thor versus Apocalypse in the 11th century! The battle between the Thunder God and the classic X-Men villain will rock the timestream in a brand new arc of Uncanny Avengers kicking off this week.

The Apocalypse Twins were born in the last issue and Kang the Conqueror made his move! What could this mean for the team and future of the Marvel Universe?

Daniel Acuna gives the Apocalypse a new look as the new artist on the series. The immortal mutant played a huge role in Rick Remender’s Uncanny X-Force run even though he didn’t appear in his most iconic form. Remender tells Marvel.com how Apocalypse factors into the next arc:

“Well the important thing was to find a way to mix the A and the X. And that was a lot of work. So I threw out most of my outline for the sequel to the Dark Angel Saga. And I kept the four most important things that I was excited about and the things that most closely tie in to characters like Wolverine or Sunfire, characters that have been tainted by this and manipulated by [Apocalypse]. So as I was building [the story], it was important to find how it was an X-Men story and also Continue reading Thor vs Apocalypse in Uncanny Avengers
