The Force is strong in comic book stores this week!

A long time ago with a publisher that’s very different from what it is now…there were Star Wars comics.

Decades later, Marvel is owned by Disney, Lucasfilm is owned by Disney.

Star Wars Marvel comics are here. The homecoming and three new comic books were announced at San Diego Comic Con last year.

Star Wars #1 by Jason Aaron (Wolverine and the X-Men) and John Cassaday (Astonishing X-Men) arrives this week. The book will be set after the destruction of the first Death Star. AMANDA TAPPING at EMERALD CITY COMICON

A huge announcement for sci-fi fans from the biggest comics and pop culture event in the Pacific Northwest.

Emerald City Comicon announced Amanda Tapping has join the stellar roster of celebrity guests at the 2015 event.

Tapping played Dr. Samantha Carter for 12 seasons on Stargate: SG-1, Atlantis and Universe.

The star expanded her fan following as Dr. Helen Magnus on Sanctuary, a series she helped developed from web to The SyFy Channel. Fans of Supernatural will know her as the angel Naomi. Continue reading AMANDA TAPPING at EMERALD CITY COMICON

X-MEN vs. JUGGERNAUT Rematch

The Juggernaut!

One of the mutants oldest enemies comes stomping back in Amazing X-Men #15 this week.

It’s part of why writer Chris Yost brought the Russian X-Man of steel back into the fold in part.

Colossus and Jugernaut were both avatars of the demon Cyttorak.

VIXEN Animated Web Series

DC Comics announced Vixen is getting her own animated web series on CWSeed.

Mari Jiwe McCabe grew up in remote village in the fictional African country of Zambesi. Mari’s family were holders of a mystical totem but her uncle killed her parents and stole the totem.

Mari escaped to America, became an international supermodel, built a fortune and traveled to her homeland to take back her family’s totem and became known as Vixen.

With the totem Mari can mimic the abilities of any animal on Earth. Mari was member of the Justice League. In the DC Comics New 52 relaunch Vixen part of Justice League International but was injured.

OSCAR ISAAC Says APOCALYPSE “WILL BRING X-MEN TO THEIR KNEES”

Oscar Isaac is winning raves for his role in A Most Violent Year and he’s teasing what’s next as he plays one of the most vicious and relentless X-Men villains.

Isaac is playing En Sabah Nur but comics readers know him as Apocalypse.

The holy mutant trinity we met in First Class (James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique) along with Hugh Jackman as Wolverine will explore the origins of mutants on Earth and face “The First One” in X-Men: Apocalypse. Marvel is killing off Deadpool?

The Merc With a Mouth is enjoying an incredible ride: he got married in 2014, a solo movie is green lighted for 2016 and the hero is starring in multiple series.

But popularity didn’t stop the Death of Wolverine did it?

Marvel revealed Deadpool will die and Deadpool #250 will be the final issue as revealed exclusively on Nerdist.com.
