Mister Sinister in Wolverine ORIGIN II

Origin II will reveal more Wolverine’s past in a new limited series by Kieron Gillen and Adam Kubert. Marvel made the announcement at San Diego Comic Con this past weekend.

Origin revealed Wolverine’s childhood, real age and real name (James Howlett) and his connection to arch-enemy Sabretooth.

Writer Kieron Gillen promises this new series exposes more background of one of the X-Men’s greatest enemies: Mister Sinister.

“This is a good example of what I mean by [the series] being self-contained,” Gillen tells Marvel.com. “Nathaniel Essex has the sort of background that keeps Wikipedia editors at work forever. His appearance in ORIGIN II entirely fits into his personal chronology, but for those who don’t know anything about him will treat him as he appears, as in, a disgraced London scientist moving into increasingly unethical areas, discovering a strange new species for the first time. SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN TEAM-UP

Marvel’s Superior Spider-Man Month came out and ends swinging with another brand new series hitting comic shops this week.

In order to beat them, Otto is going to join them! Chris Yost and David Lopez team up for a brand new series starring the webslinger.

“Superior Spider-Man Team-Up #1 takes fans across the entire Marvel Universe and pits Superior Spider-Man against heroes and foes you wouldn’t necessarily think he’d rub shoulders with,” explains Stephen Wacker, Senior Editor, Marvel Entertainment. “More and more people in the Marvel Universe are starting to sense a change in Spider-Man, and being able to see Chris put Spidey in those situations is going to have my inbox full of team-up requests! Longshot Saves the Marvel Universe

The odds are in favor of Longshot fans! The End of X-Factor is near and one member of the team already has a new gig – saving the Marvel Universe!?

Peter David focused on Longshot and Shatterstar in last week’s X-Factor #259. Marvel revealed the luckiest X-Man will live on in a new series at San Diego Comic Con.

Steve McNiven Joins UNCANNY AVENGERS

Uncanny Avengers have faced Red Skull, Apocalypse, Kang and the Apocalypse Twins but the Unity team’s ultimate destruction could be from each other.

Artist Steve McNiven (Civil War) joins Rick Remender with Uncanny Avengers #14 for the finale of what’s been building since the team formed in the aftermath of Avengers vs. X-Men. Wolverine’s actions in Uncanny X-Force by Remender are back to haunt him and his friendship with Captain America.

Wolverine Back From the Wild in ORIGIN II

Origin II explores more of the tortured past of the young man who would grow up to be the X-Man known as Wolverine. On the heels of Marvel’s surprise announcement at SDCC, writer Kieron Gillen (Uncanny X-Men, Iron Man, Young Avengers) talks about where his story will pick up 10 years after the events of Origin.

“The last we saw of James was disappearing into the woods with wolves at the end of Origin,” Gillen tells Marvel.com. “That’s where he’s been ever since. He runs with a family pack, and has completely removed himself from human civilization. He’s found a kind of peace. He’s found a kind of family. The first scene is him, with the pack, hunting. The opening is really raw; I talk about the period novel feel a lot, but I have a sort of ‘Jack London with modern research’ approach to the wolves. Before Sharknado became the beast of the internet – I was a fan of SyFy’s epic collection of monster mashes including Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus, Sharktopus, and my personal favorite: Shark Attack 3: Megaladon.

Tiger Shark! This Marvel super villain rose to evil infamy in Namor, The Sub-Mariner! An injured Olympic swimmer used mad science and Namor’s DNA to become a monstrous criminal. Todd Arliss is an old rival of Namor and one time member of the Masters of Evil and the Lethal Legion. Here’s a great shot of a two-headed Tiger Shark from the limited series: Fear Itself: The Deep!
