Fan favorite Wolverine and X-Men writer Jason Aaron is coming to Emerald City Comicon in 2014.  After his gritty Scalped series, Aaron took on Marvel’s darkest heroes including Ghost Rider, Wolverine and the Punisher. Aaron ripped apart the mutants in X-Men: Schism and is currently co-writing the 50th Anniversary X-Men crossover: Battle of the Atom. Aaron co-wrote Avengers vs. X-Men, Thanos Rising a series about the origin of the Mad God of Titan.

Aaron is going into his second year as writer of Thor: God of Thunder. After a blistering first arc The God Butcher, Aaron is taking on Malekith in The Accursed. Continue reading Jason Aaron at Emerald City Comicon 2014

UNCANNY X-FORCE Ready For War

At Rose City Comic Con I said to Sam Humphries he’s made Uncanny X-Force the naughty, twisted X-Men book of the extended mutant family. To which he grinned and said “yeah!”

Psylocke has had a fling with Fantomex and his female twin – at the same time. Storm is sporting her badass Mohawk – with the attitude to match. Spiral started out as the enemy but you’ll want to cheer for the six armed twisted sister now. Mojo’s former enforcer has entangled the team in the fight over a mutant mystery child, a bizarre cult and demonic animal spirits. Plus, this crazy book has Bishop and Puck from Alpha Flight. Continue reading UNCANNY X-FORCE Ready For War

The most recent adventures of Fantomex in Uncanny X-Force* have seemed like they should be “for mature readers” but Marvel is taking it to the MAX literally.

The X-Men’s international man of mystery, fake accented super thief with his own nervous system spaceship stars in Fantomex MAX #1. Andrew Hope, Shawn Crystal Francesco Francavilla

*For those of you not keeping score with Sam Humphries X-book: Fantomex is split between three bodies. Two of them have been on a crime spree/love affair and even had a three-way doomed romance with Psylocke!

Marvel’s favorite webslinger stars in the first of three new series in the revived Marvel Knights imprint.

Marvel Knights: Spider-Man #1  The Amazing Spidey takes on 99 of his deadliest foes in a tale by Matt Kindt and Marco Rudy.

The writer takes the hero way out of his element and confirmed Arcade, Nuke and Kraven the Hunter will appear in the series.

“Once you take Spider-Man out of New York, Continue reading MARVEL KNIGHTS SPIDER-MAN Begins

Unleash the Teasers!

After the Trial and Judgment teasers hinting at a X-Men/Guardian of the Galaxy crossover, Marvel lets loose three more with the promise that all will be revealed at New York Comic Con in about 2 weeks.

But that won’t stop the speculation so let’s begin!

Corporate is the first clue about Peter David’s new project since The End of X-Factor. Carmine Di Giandomenico will be the artist on the book. We know it will involve mutants and the big hint was at the end of the Polaris issue of The End of X-Factor. Continue reading Marvel Teasers for Peter David, Rick Remender and Silver Surfer?

Kang Time Uncanny Avengers

Uncanny Avengers #12 is packed with even more evil promising the origin of the Apocalypse Twins, Kang’s endgame revealed and an unholy pact between the Red Skull and…Ahab.

Yes, the ruthless mutant hunter from the future joins Rick Remender’s time twisted epic.

One of the big reasons I’m sharing this story is because celebrated artist Salvador Larroca (X-Men, Invincible Iron Man and currently Cable and X-Force) penciled this week’s issue focusing on Kang the Conqueror. Continue reading Kang Time Uncanny Avengers
