A new Marvel age is rising. Time to join the adventure.

If you’re a fan of Avengers, X-Men movies or Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series and you wonder “could I enjoy the comics or understand what’s going on?” the answer is a “YES!”

It’s the eve of the All-New, All-Different Marvel Now as the publisher restarts with all-new number one issues. You see the Marvel Universe as fans knew it (including all it’s other timelines) came to an end with Secret Wars.

This week marks a new beginning with one Marvel Universe set eight months after the finale of the Wars. For current readers it’s not a reboot but more a refresh. For movie, television fans and new readers it’s a perfect time to head to your comics shop or app to join the new adventures.

NEW MUTANTS Movie Update

Writer/director Josh Boone (The Fault In Our Stars) says the first script for X-Men spinoff New Mutants is complete.

Boone shared the update via Twitter including X-Men producer Simon Kinberg and co-writer Knate Gwaltney.

The New Mutants were a younger generation of Xavier students including the little sister of Colossus who would become known as Magik.

In comics New Mutants evolved into X-Force, a pro-active squad taking the fight to enemies of mutants. But the original New Mutants have often reunited. Magik is now on the main X-team while Sunspot and Cannonball are Avengers. Continue reading NEW MUTANTS Movie Update

GeekGirlCon welcomes Ms. Marvel writer G. Willow Wilson and expands with new events for its fifth year.

The Seattle event celebrating the role of women in geek culture will have its inaugural fashion show, on Saturday October 10th at 8pm.

Last year’s event was a sold out smash even without major comic book creators of celebrities. This year acclaimed Seattle based writer G. One of Marvel’s strangest heroes gets a new shot at a series.

Following Marvel news at the Diamond Retailer Summit, Jeff Lemire confirmed via Twitter he and artist Greg Smallwood and Jordie Bellaire are the creative team on a brand new Moon Knight ongoing series. Smallwood soon followed sharing his “stash” of classic Moon Knight comics and appearances (the vigilante’s debut in Werewolf By Knight) he says he’s using as reference.

New BLACK PANTHER By TA-NEHESI COATES & BRIAN STELFREEZE

The first black superhero will star in a his own brand new ongoing series in 2016.

Marvel announced writer Ta-Nehisi Coates and artist Brian Stelfreeze as the creative team on the new Black Panther book via The New York Times.

Coates is the acclaimed author of Between the World and Me, correspondent for The Atlantic and nominee for the National Book Award. This will mark the comic book debut for Coates. Batman fans will remember Stelfreeze’s run of covers for Shadow of the Bat.

Marvel revealed “A Nation Under Our Feet” will be a “yearlong story line” by Coates and Stelfreeze. The arc is inspired by the 2003 book of the same title by Steven Hahn. What is Spider-Man’s longtime love doing in the Armored Avenger’s book? Remember this is coming from Brian Michael Bendis who made us rethink who should be an Avenger (Spidey, Wolverine, Luke Cage, The Sentry, Jessica Drew) and made fans love the change.
