BRUCE WAYNE BACK In BLACK In BATMAN #50

The real Dark Knight is back on the streets of Gotham City in Batman #50.

We’ve seen the hints but in 2016 it’s official.

DC Comics announced in the March 2016 previews the finale of the post Convergence story that began with Bruce as an amnesiac and Jim Gordon as the all-new Batman following the Dark Knight and Joker’s deaths in the Endgame finale.

Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo wrap up their latest arc as their Batman partnership draws to a close…for now.

In last week’s issue we saw a huge twist when Bruce seemed to start getting his memory back when a “familiar” face joined him.

X-MEN APOCALYPSE WARS Behind The Battles

Marvel announced the return of the X-Men’s immortal enemy in Apocalypse Wars. In 2016 En Sabah Nur will strike in Extraordinary X-Men #8, Uncanny X-Men #6 and All-New X-Men #9.

Three months, three chapters starring En Sabah Nur but this is not the crossover you may be expecting. Readers will have go to way back to Fall of the Mutants to see part of the inspiration for this thematic events.

New Comics Picks for December 16, 2015

As we count down to Christmas there’s a sleigh full of new comics at your local comic book shop this week including two new books based on classic sci-fi films, a bloody showdown between heroes in Robin War and let’s kick it off with the the rise of Wonder Woman when the Justice League fall prey to ultimate power.

Justice League #46 The second wave of Darkseid War rages on! After a spectacular turn of events (Darkseid dead and replaced Lex Luthor?! Batman, Superman, Flash and the League transformed into the new New Gods?!) Wonder Woman and Mister Miracle are the only heroes left to find the MIA Anti-Monitor and stop the cosmic conflict. X-MEN: APOCALYPSE First Trailer

The films introduces a young Jean Grey who sees a vision of the immortal mutant’s wrath on Earth.

This is our first look at Oscar Isaac in action as En Sabah Nur…first mutant who believes “only the strong survive” and has four Horsemen to enforce his bidding including a younger version of Storm, Psylocke, Magneto and a new Angel but this time as Archangel.

EXTRAORDINARY X-MEN RESURRECTION?

Heroes fall and rise again.

Heroes die and live again.

Especially with the X-Men.

In the new Extraordinary X-Men by Jeff Lemire and Humberto Ramos, Storm is alone at the top as the mutant race faces a deadly new threat or is she?

The Terrigen Mists igniting the Inhuman race are killing mutantkind. Ororo is rescuing mutants from the Mists and giving them sanctuary in X-Haven and rebuilding X-Men.

BRUCE WAYNE’S BATMAN Memory

We knew it was coming: Bruce Wayne will become the Batman again in 2016.

This week we saw a huge moment on Bruce’s journey and the perhaps fate of one of his greatest enemies in Batman #47.

Back in issue 40 (the Endgame finale) the Dark Knight and Joker were locked in a bloody battle to the death as Gotham City buried them in an underground tunnel. Bruce emerged wandering the streets of Gotham with no memory of his past or the tragedies that turned him into Batman. Jim Gordon became the new Batman in a tech suit working for the Powers Corporation and Gotham City Police. Joker was missing and presumed dead.

Never presume!
