EMERALD CITY COMICON 2016 For Virgins & Veterans

Emerald City Comicon 2016 is just one week away. Tens of thousands of fans gather in Seattle for the biggest pop culture celebrating in the Pacific Northwest. This year ECCC expands to a fourth day of comics, cosplay, gaming and more. The 14th Edition of ECC is kicking off in true Seattle style with two guys who could rock a superhero uniform: Seattle Seahawks Richard Sherman and Bobby Wagner. Six fans will compete on Sherman and Wagner’s teams in a ECCC Black Ops 3 Open on day one.

Stars of The Walking Dead, Supergirl, The Flash, Marvel’s Daredevil, IZombie, Once Upon A Time, Firefly and even a Mighty Morphin Power Ranger are among the cast of celebrity guests who will greet fans in panels, autograph and photo sessions. CIVIL WAR II New INHUMAN, New Art Revealed

Marvel is on the verge of war.

Heroes vs. Heroes. Whose side are you on?

Civil War II will shake the alliances, friendships and teams of the All-New, All-Different Marvel this Summer. The power to change the future causes a rift between Iron Man and Captain Marvel and everyone must choose a side.

Creators of the superhero showdown revealed big new details, shared new art and answered fan questions in a special Marvel live event.

Invincible Iron Man launch team Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez are writing and drawing the main seven issue series. The fan-favorite creators were joined by Editor-In-Chief Axel Alonso, Executive Editor Tom Brevoort.

The story begins with a Free Comic Book issue by Bendis and Jim Cheung, then a Zero issue with artist Olivier Coipel and an epilogue.

Captain America: Sam Wilson #7

The massive milestone 75th Anniversary issue. Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes and now Sam Wilson have all wielded the iconic shield and code-name. Joss Whedon and John Cassaday, Greg Rucka and Mike Perkins, Tim Sale help celebrate the legacy with new stories and Nick Spencer reveals the next chapter of Avengers Standoff.

X-Men ’92 #1

The breakout Secret Wars book is back and so are the 90’s X-Men. Just when thought it was safe the reopen the Xavier School for Gifted Children, here comes Omega Red armed with more than his toxic tentacles. Chris Sims take you way back with new tales of the X-era that influenced a generation.

Godzilla Obilivion #1

The King of the Monsters in back in a new limited series by Joshua Hale Fialkov and Brian Churilla. An adventure into a monster infested dimension brings back an evil invader to our Earth.

Batman and Robin Eternal #26

The big finale of the weekly series that united all of Batman’s partners, brought back Cassandra Cain and introduced the evil of Mother. Is one of Bruce’s allies under her control in a massive fight with Mother’s army.

MARVEL Teases DEATH OF X

Marvel revealed an ominous teaser via Twitter that sends a chill into the hearts of X-Fans:

The “Death of X” coming Fall 2016.

No official word on if this is an event, new book or story arc featuring what we assume is the X-Men.

Things are already bleak for the mutants since the All-New, All-Different Marvel Now began following Secret Wars:

M-Pox is spreading as the Terrigen Mists that create new Inhumans are killing and sterilizing mutants. No new mutants are being born and others are dying after exposure to the Mists.

Cyclops died (off-screen) in an attack on the Inhumans. Storm took the school to Limbo to create X-Haven to protect mutants from the mists in Extraordinary X-Men.  Could Death of X reveal what happened to Cyclops and other missing mutants like Emma Frost in the 8 months after Secret Wars and the relaunch? How does Civil War II erupt?

Marvel revealed solicitations for June 2016 books as the big event spreads across the All-New, All-Different Marvel Now. Here are highlights to watch out for coming this June.

Civil War II #1, #2 by Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez arrives. A new Inhuman with precognitive powers emerges in the double-sized first chapter where lines are drawn and  bodies fall. Then, Tony Stark takes the law into his own hands and declares war on the Inhumans but not all the heroes are behind him.

Civil War II: Choosing Sides #1 of 6 features the return of Nick Fury, Night Thrasher and Damage Control in this anthology series by multiple creative teams showing how different heroes are affected by the conflict and who follows Stark, who follows Carol Danvers.

Civil War II: X-Men The emergence of the new Inhuman forces one mutant leader to take on the Inhumans and his rival X-Men to save the mutant race. Cullen Bunn

Civil War II: Amazing Spider-Man #1 Peter Parker is caught up in the war of heroes. Christos Gage

Marvel reveals new art from John Cassaday and a new interview with Joss Whedon about their upcoming reunion. The Astonishing X-Men team will work together again on a new story for Captain America’s 75th Anniversary as revealed in EW.

The Avengers director and acclaimed artist collaborated on an iconic and influential X-Men run. The new story starring Steve Rogers will appear in Captain America: Sam Wilson #7.

This is Whedon’s first time writing the hero in a comic book.
