Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige untangles the web of rumors about the upcoming Spidey reboot.

Sony and Marvel reached an agreement to share the fan-favorite hero. Spidey will first appear in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film then Marvel and Sony will work together on a new Spider-Man film for 2017.

Fans wondered if we’ll see an adult Peter Parker or perhaps even Miles Morales as the new friendly neighborhood Spidey-Man but Feige makes it clear while promoting Avengers: Age of Ultron.

“In Spider-Man’s very specific case, where there have been two retellings of that origin in the last whatever it’s been – [thirteen] years – for us we are going to take it for granted that people know that, and the specifics,“ Feige told CraveOnline.

“It will not be an origin story,“ he continued. “But, with great power comes great responsibility. It is inherent to who his character is. But we want to reveal it in different ways and spend much more time focusing on this young high school kid in the MCU dealing with his powers.”

“There is a young kid [already] running around New York City in a homemade version of the Spider-Man costume in the MCU, you just don’t know it yet,“ he added, laughing.

What does Feige think the previous films did right when it comes to Spidey? Here’s a link to the entire CraveOnline interview.

Spidey is expected to appear in Captain America: Civil War in May 2016. The new Spider-Man movie is scheduled for July, 2017.

Miles Morales will apparently survive the end of the Ultimate Universe and join the Avengers in May.
