Up front confession:

Three Batman books make the list but with three huge finales and foreshadowing major changes to the Bat-family how could we refuse?

2015 promises shattering changes for Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and the entire Multiverse.

The main event – Convergence – could actually shake up DC Comics continuity all over again.

With teases of so many classic stories and lost heroes could DC give fans the old school and New 52 lines?

2014 gave us Lex Luthor leading the Justice League so who knows what could happen?

Let’s go to the list:

Batman: Endgame Finale

The “final” Joker story from Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. It started with Batman vs. Justice League then a shocker – Joker has been hiding in plain sight as one of the Dark Knight’s allies. The Clown Prince of Crime has a sinister new look but what’s his agenda this time?

Batman and Robin: Robin Rises Finale – the Aftermath

Bruce goes to hell (or Apokolips) to resurrect his son. Previews of Batman and Robin #38 show Bruce does actually bring Damian Wayne back from the dead but at what price?

Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason conclude their epic Robin Rises (and Robin Rises: Alpha with Andy Kubert) with the return of Damian and a unpredictable new start for the dynamic father and son duo.

Convergence

Multiple heroes from multiple Earths in a nine-week event that will literally take over the DC Universe. All ongoing books will go on hiatus for 2 months starting April 1, 2015 for this massive event. Brainiac has been keeping lost Earths bottled up like Kandor. What happens when he opens them all up? As you can see below a new villain, Telos, and the return of classic versions of DC heroes from various decades all converge. Is this the end of The New 52 or will the past invade the present?

Superman #38

The new year will mean a new power and a new look. The battle between the Man of Steel and Ulysses pushes him to new extremes and lead to a new suit. It’s the big game-changing conclusion of the first arc by all-stars Geoff Johns, John Romita Jr and Klaus Janson. Clark will reveal his superhero identity to someone in his supporting cast. What will Superman’s new style look like? (Remember Electric Blue Superman?) Superman #38 arrives January 28th.

Batman Eternal Finale

Who is the mystery villain from issue one holding Batman captive while Gotham City burns? The final issue of the year-long weekly series by an all-star creative team. Bluebird makes her official debut fighting with the Dark Knight. Can Catwoman keep her reign as Queen of the Gotham Underworld? Will the Spoiler get her own series?  The story that features nearly every character and corner of the Batman universe will shake the mythos to its core.

New Teen Titans

It may only be a two-part series spinning out of the Convergence event but we’re thrilled to see the return of Dick Grayson as Nightwing, Donna Troy as Wonder Girl and the Titans cast (Cyborg, Starfire, Beast Boy, Jericho) from the classic Marv Wolfman/George Perez era. The great Wolfman is joined by Nicola Scott (Earth 2) for a tale of Titans vs. Tangent era Doom Patrol. With TNT planning a Titans television series pilot and the fan support for the pre-New 52, could this be a lead to a full-on return of the classic Titans team?

Harley Quinn Valentine Special

A big kiss from Harley, Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti and more creators to celebrate the bad girl who inspires mad love! After the fun of Harley Quinn Invades San Diego Comic Con and the smelly annual – the creators on a roll for innovative ways to share Harley hijinks. Is Harley really making moves on Batman? Find out this February in the big oversize special.

And we’ve saved the biggest and the baddest for last! It’s still a big mystery but…

Darkseid War  There’s no official announcement…yet! Geoff Johns teased this last summer but will it be an event, one-shot or aftermath of Convergence?  The Lord of Apololips was the first villain of the New 52 Justice League and just clashed with the Dark Knight in Batman and Robin – Johns is plotting a cosmic rematch. With a villain this big – the impact will go beyond the League.

Here’s to a great 2015 of DC Comics. What’s on your list?
