Loki

Villain. Trickster. Prince of Lies. God of Mischief.

Hero?

In Loki, Agent of Asgard – Thor’s half-brother isn’t the evil madman he once was. Loki has been on missions for the All-Mother but is he ready to assume the role of super hero?

Mutants and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes unite against the evil of the Red Skull in Avengers and X-Men: AXIS.

Could Loki embrace the good side of him, join the heroes and help stop the Skull?

“Loki is in a redemption arc already, and has found himself faced with the challenge of proving himself capable of being a hero, but of course the person who doubts him the most is himself,” AXIS writer Rick Remender told Marvel.com. “And deep down, in the recesses of his mind, there is his future self cackling at him, pulling him into despair, convincing him that there is no other road for him. And AXIS will allow him to answer that question once and for all for himself, as to what the true fiber and makeup of his character is and whether or not he is inferior to his half-brother Thor.”

Loki recently returned from the Tenth Realm with Thor after learning they have a half-sister, Angela. Loki immediately clashed with Doctor Doom but as AXIS continues – they are working together?

Let’s not forget the second act of AXIS is Inversion in which heroes and villains are twisted and shift roles.

Is Loki’s potential heroism real, an act or is he under the influence of the Red Skull?

The story continues in AXIS #1 next month.
