LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Pilot Review

Fast and fun DC’s Legends of Tomorrow blasted off with a thrilling first episode packed with action, humor and heart.

After seeing a glimpse of  a horrific future ruled by Vandal Savage, Time Master Rip Hunter goes back to our present to recruit a team to stop Savage in the past before the immortal enemy conquers the future.

Spinning off The Flash/Arrow crossover, Hunter reveals the tragic, passionate and timeless romance of Hawkman and Hawkgirl and their cursed connection to Savage.

Hunter appeals to the potential team member’s ego, dreams, scientific curiosity and greed. For Arrow fans a moment between Caity Lotz and Katie Cassidy as we witness a heartfelt sendoff between sisters and the birth of the White Canary.

The Waverider (an awesome timeship) takes the team to the groovy 1970’s to meet a scholar with a very personal connection to Kendra, Carter and Savage when a new villain enters the drama.

The fast-paced, funny thrill ride through time comes to an emotionally powerful stop as we learn the truth about Hunter and the Legends leading to a big revelation about Hunter and the eight “Legends” are faced with a dilemma.

Nine characters, time travel and consequences, and competing covert agendas makes Legends of Tomorrow an ambitious show. Only time will tell (sorry, had to go there) if it’s a hit but this pilot has us on board and excited for the adventures across the DC universe past and future with a motley mix of characters.

Jump on the Waverider and enjoy.
