Peter Quill and Gamora have a flirtation in Guardians of the Galaxy on the big screen but in the comics Quill is in a long-distance budding relationship with Kitty Pryde of the X-Men!
Marvel shared a look at the cover for Legendary Star-Lord #7 by Paco Medina as Kitty takes command of Quill.
Guess they do like “pina coladas and getting caught in the rain…” like the Rupert Holmes song goes on the Awesome Megamix 1.
The flirtation started in The Trial of Jean Grey, a crossover between All-New X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Kitty has put Bobby Drake on ice and the romance with the outer space outlaw is heating up like a solar flare in Legendary Star-Lord #7.
“You know, if a girl braved space to save my butt despite some serious traumatic history with space-bullets I’d probably fall for her too,” Editor Xander Jarowey told Marvel.com. “Especially if she had some good mixtapes. I can feel the love tonight, can you?”
Jarowey makes a great point. During Joss Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men run, Kitty was trapped in bullet speeding through space. (For the story here’s a link to volume one and two.)
Legendary Star-Lord #7 by Sam Humphries and Medina arrives in December.
Relive how the cosmic romance first sparked by ordering The Trial of Jean Grey here.
