As I watched the big screen trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness right before Iron Man 3 this weekend I immediately thought John Harrison (Benedict Cumberbatch) is working with the Klingons!

The Federation’s greatest enemy (of the original Star Trek series) were developed but cut from J.J. Abrams first film.

At the Star Trek Into Darkness London premiere Damon Lindelof appears to confirm the inclusion of the alien warriors in the upcoming film and in a possible third movie:

“You can never see enough Klingons, and I think in this film we’ve given the audience a little taste, but there’s also a promise that there’s a larger conflict on the horizon, and that would be fun to see,” Lindelof told HeyUGuys.

Klingons appears in the comic book prequel Star Trek Countdown to Darkness from IDW publishing.

This is just a theory but could Harrison be a Klingon agent in disguise? In the classic Star Trek episode The Trouble With Tribbles, a Klingon agent disguised as a human was uncovered by Kirk and crew.

Could Into Darkness set the stage for a Federation/Klingon war in the third film?
