Updated at 6:00pm:

We may know which superheroes will be joining the Arrow/Flash spinoff.

Ciara Renee has been cast as Kendra Saunders aka Hawkgirl according to Deadline.

According to the report, this version of Hawkgirl is a young woman “who is just beginning to learn she’s been reincarnated over the centuries. When provoked, her ancient warrior persona manifests itself, along with wings that grow out of her back.”

Shayera Hall is another version of the character and crimefighting partner/lover of Hawkman of Thanagar.

UPDATE: Producers of the Arrow/Flash spinoff recruit a Doctor Who veteran to a play a time traveling DC Comics hero.

Arthur Darvill has been cast as Rip Hunter according to Deadline. That’s two for the site who reported on the casting of Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl earlier today.

Richard “Rip” Hunter is a genius inventor and time traveler. Rip has been partners with Booster Gold, a glory-seeking, publicity craving superhero from the future. The casting of Rip could signal Booster could be the next hero to join the project.

The team-up show from Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim is reported to include Brandon Routh (The Atom), Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell as Rogues Captain Cold and Heatwave, Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein of Firestorm) and Caity Lotz, who played Black Canary on Arrow but died this season.
