Gina Carano has joined the cast of Fox’s Deadpool according to The Hollywood Reporter as a character named Angel Dust. The mixed martial artist turned actress (Haywire) plays a character known as a super strong Morlock, a tribe of mutants living under New York City.
T.J. Miller is joining the cast as “comic relief” in an undisclosed role and Daniel Cudmore will reprise his role as X-Man Colossus according to the report.
Ryan Reynolds is playing Wilson, the dying mutant assassin turned into a scared super-powered mercenary. Reynolds played him in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The actor revealed what looks like the iconic mask of the anti-hero in a photo via twitter.
Deadpool was never officially an X-Man but appeared in the first X-Force and later joined Wolverine’s Uncanny X-Force.
Tim Miller is directing. Veteran X-Men producer Lauren Schuler Donner is producing. Deadpool is scheduled for February 12, 2016.
