Sinestro vs. Green Lantern like you’ve never seen before.

Lex Luthor trying to save Batman’s life.

An insane new alliance.

The Crime Syndicate forever broken.

The twists, turns and strange team-ups continue in Forever Evil #5.

This week’s chapter is a showcase for Lex Luthor. There’s plenty of action of but it’s the mind games at work that impress me. Geoff Johns really gets inside Luthor’s head as the master manipulator recruits more member of his Injustice League. You have to admire Luthor’s power plays and this issue just makes me more excited for the post-Forever Evil Justice League team led by Luthor.
David Finch’s pencils just seem right for their dark edged world where heroes have vanished and it’s villain versus villain for the fate of the world. While Batman, Luthor and their rebel squadron make plans to take down the Crime Syndicate an even greater evil has invaded. I think I’m starting to enjoy Johns writing villains more than heroes.

This chapter is a fun and sinister set up for a major payoff. Next issue is the force that destroyed the rival Earth and the Crime Syndicate’s greatest secret is exposed.
