No hero is safe in X-Men: Apocalypse!
As X-fans await the next chapter in Fox’s franchise director Bryan Singer has a warning:
“I’ll kill any of those characters any day I want. They’re all fair game,” he joked in a set visit according to The Hollywood Reporter Heat Vision, referring to characters in the final scene of Days of Future Past. “Anything can happen.”
The last film reset continuity, erased the events of The Last Stand, and gave us a happy ending for the adult Scott, Jean, Storm and more mutant heroes.
But don’t count on it staying that way when an ancient mutant (Oscar Isaac) rises to strike.
“What I’m doing with these in-betweenqueels is playing with time’s immutability and the prequel concept, meaning that yes we erased those storylines and anything can happen,” Singer told reporters during a visit to the set of this summer’s X-Men: Apocalypse. “That means the audience goes into the movie thinking that anything can happen. I mean anything, anyone could die. Any possibility could occur, but characters are still moving towards their immutable place.”
The new film set in the 1980’s introduces new actors playing younger versions of Scott, Storm, Jean, Angel and Nightcrawler who will follow the timeline from the first three films.
X-Men: Apocalypse opens May 27th.
