Ben Affleck finally talks about the Batman casting controversy. The star just started the promotion train for Runner, Runner so this could be the first of many quotes. While on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Affleck finally broke his silence about playing the Dark Knight in the Man of Steel sequel:
“It’s so awesome, I’m so excited. They called me up and said ‘do you want to do this’, and I’m like, ‘I’m not a 25 year old man are you sure?’ So they said to come down and we’ll show you what we’re doing, and it was incredible.
Zack [Snyder] has this incredible take on it.. obviously we can’t do what Christian [Bale] did, those movies are amazing, so he wants to do something different but still in keeping with that. So I thought… this is a brilliant way to do this, and I really know how to hook into this.”
The Man of Steel sequel flies into cinemas in 2015.
Thanks to Batman News and Dark Horizons.
When I picture Affleck and the tone of the film I think of this cover to Batman #18 with a big, buff brawler Dark Knight.
