Batman’s search to build his own Suicide Squad in DC’s Batman #9 leads to a double shocker from featuring two very different DC iconic women.

The Dark Knight isn’t going it alone for his latest adventure but who will join him on an insane mission to invade Bane’s homeland?

I Am Suicide is the second Batman arc by Tom King. Mikel Janin joins King for the follow-up to I Am Gotham.

Only Psycho-Pirate can cure Gotham Girl of her madness. Bane is holding the mind-controlling villain in his prison on his island. The Dark Knight is working with Amanda Waller to go on a mission that can only be described as “suicide.”

This week’s issue sees the return of a major Batman rogue, some we haven’t seen a while and cameo connected to a greater mystery within the DC Universe.

Before we dive into the burning questions and break down Batman’s new squad here’s a SPOILER ALERT!

If you have not read Batman #9 yet stop reading now.

Seriously.

OK.

Here it comes.

Why is Bane holding Psycho-Pirate? The villain known for his mask and muscles sits atop a throne of skulls without his iconic mask and says he’s cured of addiction for Venom. Why does he need the Pirate and is drawing Batman to Santa Prisca part of the villain’s endgame?

Who joins the Squad? Who’s the mystery woman?

Batman and Jim Gordon enter Arkham Asylum to examine Jeremiah Arkham’s patients and possible Squad recruits includng the Tweeds, Calendar Man and a young woman labeled Doe, who attempts to deliver a message to them.

What’s her message? One letter that’s an iconic symbol – the “L” of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

The mystery of Saturn Girl’s return kicked off in the DC Universe Rebirth one-shot. It’s been confirmed this Jane Doe is Saturn Girl of the Legion by Co-Publisher Dan DiDio on DC All-Access.

What is the 30th century hero doing in Arkham Asylyum in the present day?

Batman then approaches his final recruit alone in an interogation room.
As the Dark Knight unzips and takes off the mask – it’s Selina Kyle who smiles and utters a one word response:

“Meeoow”

How did Catwoman end up in Arkham? Can Batman really trust her?
