Four Wishes BATMAN ETERNAL Finale Aftermath

Batman Eternal #52 is here wrapping up the year-long epic covering every corner of Gotham City and featuring nearly every member of the extended Bat-cast.

Ambitious, sprawling and packed with characters and twists – the final chapter resolved the questions left after issue 50’s what the? moment that revealed the mystery villain from issue one but not the real mastermind of the downfall of Bruce Wayne.

Here are four wishes for the Bat office now that we’re reached the end and anxiously wait for the impact of Batman: Endgame finale:

1. Let Bluebird soar. We finally saw Harper Row transform from street smart engineering wiz to fully costumed crimefighter and the most exiting and badass addition to the Bat-family in years. I really enjoyed the rapport with Red Robin and hope she guest stars in Teen Titans and definitely think she will be part of We Are Robin.

2. Selina Kyle, No Costume, No Code-Name, No Batman! I loved Selina assuming the throne of the Gotham City underworld and kissing a rival Catwoman. Selina and Bruce are left divided and I hope both will pursue new lovers even though she will put the costume back on in Catwoman #41 this June.

3. Spoiler Shines On. After this arc I really see why Stephanie Brown fans are so devoted. I don’t want her becoming Batgirl but I’d love to see Spoiler get tangled in a new mystery and cross paths with Tim and the Teen Titans.

4. Pennyworth…Julia Pennyworth. Did you sense the chemistry between Julia and Bruce? Alfred’s daughter is a smart, resourceful former spy with a sharp wit. The fresh face in the Batman cast could be more than Batcave backup – I’d like to see Bruce and Julia become more than partners in fighting crime but where is Bruce as an all-new Dark Knight arrives in Batman #41? Maybe it’s up to the Pennyworths to find Bruce.
