BATMAN Character to Watch

Nearly every Batman character is part of the Batman Eternal weekly series but one breakout character to watch is worth every moment of screen time.

While everyone is speculating about who will be the future Robin (Harper Row, Carrie Kelly, Duke Thomas or a resurrected Damian Wayne?) we’re wondering if Bruce has found a potential new romantic partner in crime fighting?

The Batman writers are introducing an incredible roster of teen allies for Bruce Wayne in the tradition of Dick Grayson, Barbara Gordon and Tim Drake but it’s a next generation Pennyworth that’s has breakout potential.

Julia Pennyworth, the long-lost daughter of devoted Alfred.

In The New 52 (Batman Eternal #9) Bruce crossed paths with SSR Agent Julia Pennyworth in Hong Kong as he investigated the Chinese mob’s connection to Carmine Falcone. Julia is now working in the Batcave (you could say like Oracle) while Alfred is locked up in Arkham Asylum. Julia may not have the best relationship with her estranged father but she follows in his footsteps as a resourceful operative and assistant in Batman’s investigations.

Julia knows Bruce’s secret, has the skills and experience to be his tactical support in the Batcave or field operative. With Selina Kyle (she’s no longer going by Catwoman) running the Gotham underworld maybe it’s time Bruce move on to a new romance. Bruce and Julia share secrets, are both driven and share a father (father figure in Bruce’s case) that could lead to a mutual attraction leading to big complications and great story potential.

Stay tuned.
