Batman is heading for a DC Rebirth rematch with Bane.
Writer Tom King confirmed (via Twitter) that the villain who once broke the Bat will strike in Batman #9 with art Mikel Janin and June Chung, the team from Batman Rebirth #1.
Bane is sitting on a “throne” of skrulls in the teaser image.
Bane is unmasked and grinning. Does he know the Batman is coming for him and his prisoner?
I Am Suicide is King’s second Batman arc and marks Bane’s debut in the DC Rebirth.
The Dark Knight’s upcoming showdown picks up the action on Bane’s island following the epilogue of I Am Gotham, the first arc.
In order of save Gotham Girl, the Dark Knight must go on a mission that might be tasked to the Suicide Squad.

Here it comes.
In the epilogue following the death of Gotham, his sister is still under the influence of the Psycho Pirate, an operative of Professor Hugo Strange. The final page showed Batman face to face with Task Force X director Amanda Waller. She revealed Strange orchestrated the attacks in the first arc with Psycho Pirate then exchanged him for venom, the drug that gave Bane his enhanced powers. The Psycho Pirate is being held by Bane in Santa Prisca. Batman needs the emotion manipulating Pirate to cure Gotham Girl of her madness.
Waller tells Batman to save the girl he must invade a sovereign country, breaking into a super prison, break a lunatic of Bane’s hands.
Waller followed up with a final comment about the mission “one might even…it’s SUICIDE.”
Will Batman go in alone or recruit from Waller’s Task Force X members for his mission to save Gotham Girl? Could history repeat itself?
I Am Suicide begins October 19th.
