AGENTS OF SHIELD FALLEN AGENT Finale Burning Questions

courtesy Marvel

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. more than delivered on the promise of killing off a major character as a second lead died as Season Three/Fallen Agent arc came to an action and emotion packed close.

Daisy saw a vision of a team member dying (via contact with a now dead Inhuman) and the fight to stop Hive going into outer space.

The prophecy was fulfilled in the two-part finale Absolution/Ascension.

How will the losses affect the surviving Team Coulson members and what could it mean for the next season?

Before we continue here’s a SPOILER ALERT!

If you have not watched Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. finale yet stop reading now.

Seriously.

OK.

Here it comes.

Hive’s scientist, Radcliffe, transformed a squad of Watchdogs into primitive Inhumans using Daisy’s blood. Hive wanted to unleash his own Terrigenesis with the compound in a missile that would infect Earth’s atmosphere and the entire race. Hive would have an entire planet of enslaved, primitive Inhumans.

Radcliffe was taken by May and joined S.H.I.E.L.D. to stop Hive but is the scientist truly on the side of the good guys now?

Thanks to Lash’s final act, Daisy was rescued from Hive and cured of his infection hold on her and she was left to cope with the memories of her horrible acts while under his control. But Daisy reunited with the ancient evil Inhuman wanting the tentacled Inhuman wearing Grant Ward’s body to take her back. Because of Lash’s cleansing, Hive couldn’t infect her again and Daisy came to her senses and it’s a big battle between Daisy and Hive but she looses and becomes the monster’s leverage against S.H.I.E.L.D.

Daisy is ready to sacrifice herself to stop Hive, but Lincoln (Luke Mitchell) is on board and he takes the jet with the bomb and Hive into space. After the final battle, Lincoln and Hive face death together. The two rivals connected to Daisy end the fighting, accept their fate and wait for the eventual deaths.

With Hive’s demise, is this the final goodbye to Grant Ward (Brett Dalton.) The Hydra traitor actually died a while ago but the actor stayed on as the monster Inhuman took the guise of Ward.

In the finale’s final moments we jumped six months into the future –  we see Daisy is now branded a terrorist and criminal and dubbed Quake (her comic book code-name) by the media. We see Daisy give money and the final creation (a wooden robin) to the mother and daughter of Charlie, the Inhuman with precognitive death visions, who died beside Daisy earlier this season.

Daisy may not the be only Team Coulson member gone rogue. Fitz is now working Hive’s scientist Radcliffe meaning John Hannah will stay on the series and he’s building a LMD (Life Model Decoy) a clone-like tool Nick Fury often used in the comics.

And Coulson is no longer director of S.H.I.E.L.D. – why?

What is the status of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Will Radcliffe’s LMD/AI creation join the cast next season along with Radcliffe?

Is Hive really dead given the monster’s ability to heal and steal bodies?

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns next fall and move to 10 pm on Tuesdays on ABC.
