Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returned with an action-packed new episode packed with Easter eggs and left us with big questions about the Inhuman factor as the series continues.
Skye and Raina have been transformed. Team Coulson is in mourning after losing a friend and there’s a power grab within Hydra but we’re obsessed with the Inhumans.
Spoiler Alert!
If you did not watch last night’s episode stop reading now.
Here are our top burning questions after Aftershocks:
Is Skye’s mother one of the original Inhumans? In comics the Kree (seen in Guardians of the Galaxy) came to Earth and experimented on ancient humans. Skye’s mother appears ageless so is she one of the first Inhumans and how is she connected to the famous Royal Family? Jiaying is watching over Gordon (see below) after Terrigenesis, the ritual Inhumans go through when they come of age.
Was it Attilan? The ancient city where Skye and Raina were transformed appears to be in ruins. Did the secret city of Attilan leave Earth for the moon? In comics Attilan was on the moon, in the Himalayan mountains and off the coast of Portugal and floating above New York City.
The Man With No Eyes. We saw this mystery man named Gordon at the end of the midseason finale. Last night we saw a younger version of him via flashback as a “captive” of Skye’s mother just after Terrigenesis and his transformation. We also learned he is a teleporter who saves Raina just when she’s tried to force police officers kill her.
Next week Lady Sif (Jaime Alexander) from Thor returns to Earth apparently because of Skye’s new power. What do the Asgardians know of the Inhumans that forces the warrior to return to Midgard. Eddie McClintock (Warehouse 13) also guest stars next week.
