Time for our 16 geek wishes for 2016! Here are the new comics, casting calls and what we want to happen next.

The Force Awakens Comics

Marvel’s ongoing Star Wars comics set after A New Hope are the new canon and make you feel like the film never ended. The Lando and Chewbacca limited series were stellar. Now we have Obi-Wan and Anakin. With the success of The Force Awakens can we please have a limited series starring Captain Phasma and the Stormtrooper who would become Finn or an adventure with Rey?

Titans Forever.

The Convergence return of the Marv Wolfman/George Perez Titans inspired a Titans Hunt limited series. I love the Grayson and Starfire books but we want an ongoing Titans reunion and title with Nightwing, Kori, Raven, Gar, Cyborg and Donna.

Reed & Sue’s Fantastic Future.

Thing is a Guardian of the Galaxy. Johnny Storm is with the Inhumans. Doom got a youthful makeover and is now hanging with Iron Man. We won’t know the fate of Reed and Sue until Secret Wars #9 finally arrives. Let’s give Marvel’s first power couple a new beginning…literally. Taking inspiration from the Bendis X-Men era, let’s give Reed Richards and Susan Storm and completely fresh start back in the day.

He is the Batman.

Bruce Wayne will finally get his memory back and reclaims the title of Batman this Spring. What will happen to Jim Gordon? Will Gotham’s former top cop give up the title, is there room for two Batmen and will Powers give up their power in Gotham City?

Who Will Ragnarok Thor?

Chris Hemsworth returns as the Odinson but who will be the villain? Let’s bring on the bad girls and unleash Hela, Goddess of Death, and Enchantress leading the assault on Asgard and Midgard with Executioner, Fafnir and a legion of the undead under their command. I’m still rooting for Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones) as Enchantress.

Gotham Goes Birds

Producers teased us with a potential Joker, Harley Quinn-esque villainess and the Court of Owls. We did get the Order of St. Dumas. Professor Hugo Strange and Mister Freeze are teased for the second half. Without Freeze, the Court of Owls would not have had their Talons in the comics so let’s unleash the secret society and let Jim Gordon go bird hunting.

New New Warriors on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Evil never dies. Brett Dalton stays on the show. Grant Ward is the Inhuman emissary of malevolence that inspired Hydra. We’re eager to see how this plays out: who is the ancient Inhuman and how is he connected to the stars of the upcoming movie? Plus, let’s see Daisy discover and recruit more Secret Warriors. We’d love to see Yo-Yo Rodriguez, Eden Fesi who became known as Manifold and joined the Avengers and Alexander Aaron, the little boy who was revealed as Phobos, the Greek God of Fear. This young one could be Marvel’s way to introduce the pantheon of Greek mythology in the screens.

The Atom’s Love on Legends of Tomorrow

We’re excited for the team-up series set in The Flash/Arrow CW universe. Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer had great chemistry with Emily Bett Rickards but #Olicity will not be denied. On the new series let’s see The Atom meet Jean Loring, the love of his life and source of heartbreak that would shatter the entire DC Universe. Since the series goes back and forth in time, what if Palmer met the lawyer turned host for ultimate evil during time stages of their relationship.

Who’s Next With Doctor Who

Sigh, Clara left the Tardis. Who will join Peter Capaldi for his third season? After recently rewatching the Peter Davison years, I’d love to see a team with the Time Lord. It did get crowded in the Fourth Doctor’s Tardis but I’d love to see a team of companions with Capaldi including an Amy/Rory inspired couple. Plus, wouldn’t you love to see The Doctor meet Sally Sparrow again?

Suicide Squad Breakout

The Joker and Harley Quinn may steal the show as the craziest members of DC’s wild bunch but I’m hoping there’s a hero hidden in Amanda Waller’s covert squad of killers. What if there’s hope for the Batman enemy/master assassin? Deadshot evolved from super villain to anti-hero in comics. Will Smith has the star power to lead his own DC franchise spinoff and lead a movie version of Secret Six?

X-Men Next

X-Men: Apocalypse feels like a closing chapter that began with First Class but introduces new actors in younger versions of core characters Jean Grey, Cyclops and Storm. We know more Fox X-films are coming but we’re not sure if we want this new generation of familiar faces or New Mutants (Josh Boone is working on a script for this potential spinoff.)

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Fun

“I thought she was with you,” was the first hint that we may have a sense of fun and humor in DC’s dark cinematic universe. Wonder Woman joins the battle as the Dark Knight and Man of Steel face Doomsday and it felt like the ingredients were building for a superhero throwdown to cheer for. The journey to Justice League must have a “thank you Superman” moment and a balance of hope, humor, humanity and super friendship along with the action, grittiness and explosions.

Steve Rogers, Super Soldier Again.

I love Sam Wilson. I love that Steve Rogers shows that even a senior citizen can be a hero. In Captain America’s 75th Anniversary, it is time for Steve to return as the Star-Spangled Avenger in the comics? Avengers Standoff and Civil War II are two of our most anticipated comics of the year but could it lead to two Captains America?

Deadpool Domino Effect

We’re as excited about Ryan Reynolds returning as the Merc With the Mouth like you but we LOVE Domino. Morena Baccarin is playing Wade’s girlfriend Vanessa. In the comics Vanessa was the shapeshifter known as Copycat who impersonated Domino in X-Force. We Morena in all her genre roles from Firefly to Gotham and what if she is the gateway character to a long-rumored X-Force film that could reunite Reynolds and Hugh Jackman since both Deadpool and Wolverine were members of the pro-active X-Men spinoff team book.

Valiant Movies

Bloodshot and The Harbinger Renegades are in development to become movies. The two core books could lead to a joint film based on Harbinger Wars. We’re hoping casting and creator announcements are coming this year. Our biggest humble suggestion: Ken Watanabe as Toyo Harada. The ultimate villain of the Valiant Universe is a super rich, slick CEO with a horrific array of mental powers and his reach goes across the comics canon. Watanbe of Batman Begins, Inception, The Last Samurai will make a menacing Harada.

OK, call us making our last pick easy one since we had listed it last year but we’re still waiting!

Super Friends

Wonder Woman ’77 captures the love we had for Lynda Carter’s series and Batman ’66 met The Man From UNCLE this year so the love for nostalgia is there. Let’s have a new comic inspired by the animated series that first fueled super hero dreams for a generation. Bring on the Super Friends, Legion of Doom and even those Wonder
