The X-Men’s “Fuzzy Elf” is reborn in Fox’s film franchise.
Director Bryan Singer announced via Instagram that Kodi Smit-McPhee will play a young Kurt Wagner aka Nightcrawler in X-Men: Apocalypse.
The actor was last seen in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and known for Let Me In and The Road.

In comics Nightcrawler is the son of Mystique and Azazel. Jennifer Lawrence and Jason Flemyng in X-Men: First Class. Lawrence is returning as the shapeshifter in Apocalypse. No official word on if producers will reveal the cinematic Nightcrawler’s parents.
Three new actors are playing younger versions of Jean Grey, Storm and Cyclops in the sequel set in the 1980’s.
