Just days after the anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy –  20th Century Fox unveils a viral video marketing site connecting Magneto to the historical event.

TheBentBullet.com is called “a fictional experience from the world of X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

From the website:

“Half a century ago, Magneto was implicated in the mutant plot to assassinate President John F. Kennedy. The events of that fateful day in November have been a point on contention humans and the mutant race ever since.”

Watch the video claiming Magneto used his mutant power of magnetism to alter the bullet that took the life of the President:

X-Men: First Class was set in the 1960’s and weaved the first meeting of Xavier and Magneto into the Cuban Missile Crisis as the backdrop of the Cold War drama.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is set in the mid-1970’s and in the near future. In the trailer the older Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian McKellen) send Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) back in time to change their younger selves (James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender) in the past.

In the classic comic book story Kitty Pryde was sent back to prevent the assassination of Senator Robert Kelly with an anti-mutant agenda (played by Bruce Davison in the first X-Men movie.) The chain of events led the U.S. to create Sentinels, mutant hunting robots, to contain the mutant threat.

You should check out the viral video side for Trask Industries, the fictional corporation who manufactures the Sentinels and connect the conspiracy dots teasing the X-sequel.

X-Men: Days of Future Past (see the trailer here) opens in May, 2014.
